A Long December
Lo, it is somehow the middle of January, and yet my brain still thinks it’s December.
Partially, this is because my winter has been so full of visitors and guests that any sense of routine has felt far off. This is not necessarily a bad thing. In fact, it has, over all, been a very pleasant thing. It did, however, make me forget to post a December blog.
So, here’s something for December-January:
Some projects don’t seem to end. They just slog on, with little changes that need to be dealt with here and there; like long, rainy days. Eventually, you know, they will indeed be finished. Every edit will be accepted, all the commas will be in place, and the book, article, or website will be published and out in the world. But for now, it just seems to go on and on in fits and starts.
But! There are also new projects on new subjects on the horizon, and I’m excited to get stuck in, so to speak - to take some masses of dough and turn them into bread. I don’t anticipate that every bit of the work will be absolutely fun - no work is - but I do anticipate learning a lot. And as you know, I do love learning.
I hope every one of you is cozy and warm and drinking tea.
Until next time.
